All of this and Nothing by The Psychedelic Furs | Stand out tracks: All that Money Wants She is Mine The Ghost in You Heaven |
The Psychedelic Furs were an English rock band founded in London in 1977. Led by lead vocalist Richard Butler and his brother Tim Butler on bass guitar, the Psychedelic Furs were one of the many acts spawned from the British post-punk scene. Their music went through several phases, from an initially austere art rock sound to later touching on new wave and hard rock.
‘All of This and Nothing’ was their first compilation album, released in 1988. The album has 14 songs, including one “All that Money Wants” recorded specifically for the collection.
The album successfully summarizes the Psychedelic Furs’ evolution from a left-of-center British rock band to a stylish alternative pop act, and although omitting a couple of early singles ‘All of This and Nothing’ is their best album to include the the hauntingly beautiful ballad “The Ghost in You” and the soaring “Heaven”.
